The Senate’s version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) included the bipartisan ROAD to Housing Act, a meaningful step toward increasing housing supply, expanding access to affordable mortgages, and revitalizing distressed properties.
However, the House version of the NDAA did not include ROAD, and it now falls to both chambers to reconcile their differences in the final bill. The same is true for the newly reintroduced HOME Reform Act, which would strengthen the nation’s most effective affordable housing block grant program.
At Hogar Hispano Inc., we know firsthand how these tools can help stabilize communities, preserve affordability, and expand homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income families.
We urge policymakers to include both the ROAD to Housing Act and the HOME Reform Act in the final NDAA package — and we encourage our supporters and partners to reach out to their Republican House members today to voice their support.
