REO Program: Hogar Community Reinvestment (HCR)

Only owner occupants with a household income not more than 120% of the Area Medium Income (AMI) are able to purchase a home under this program. The AMI used is for the current year and is provided by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Yes, housing counseling by a certified HUD approved housing counseling agency is required. This is provided at free of charge to the buyers and is usually completed over the phone.
There is a possibility of obtaining seller financing but it is consider in a case by case basis. If you would like more information please send us an email with your specific question and the address of the house you are interested on.
We rehab every home to no less than FHA standards. However, in many instances, if the market allows it, we would go above and beyond and add extras such as granite countertops, tile surround in the bathrooms, etc.

Second Opportunity of America (SOA) is a limited liability company of a national economic development corporation called Hogar Hispano, Inc. (HHI).
SOA was created to implement a mortgage note purchase program designed to assist families who are underwater with their mortgages. SOA is partnered with both public and private entities to purchase delinquent notes from investors with the intent of modifying them to bring the loan amount down in line with the local real estate market.
